CSDA to Showcase Best of the Best at WOC 2014
Share |
St. Petersburg, FL – CSDA has planned an impressive selection of events for the 40th World of Concrete that promotes some of the most innovative techniques the industry has to offer.

Following a successful first appearance at the 2013 show, the CSDA Concrete Polishing class is scheduled for January 22-23 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, and will be preceded by the ever-popular CSDA Estimating on January 20-21. To complete the training lineup, a CSDA Wall Sawing 101 course is also scheduled for January 22-23.

To encourage architects and engineers to learn more about the many benefits of polished concrete surfaces, the association is sponsoring the Exploring Architectural Praxis: A Concrete Timeline exhibit at WOC. Located in the show’s Concrete Surfaces Decorative Pavilion, this special outdoor interactive exhibit will focus on the functionality and aesthetics in concrete and is available exclusively for pre-qualified attendees by invitation only. Always ahead of the curve, CSDA is the only association to sponsor this event.

While contractors aim to be the best by participating in CSDA’s training program at WOC, the current “cream of the crop” will be honored with prestigious awards during the show. The first ever Concrete Openings Awards is scheduled for 10:00 AM on Wednesday, January 22 at CSDA’s booth C4435. Entries have been placed into four categories—Building Construction, Industrial Renovation, Infrastructure Renovation and Roads, Bridges and Airports—and a panel of judges will score each one based on set criteria. The project with the most points for each of the four categories will be the winner.

“We have had some amazingly innovative and complex jobs to showcase in our official magazine during 2013, so it is fitting that this new series of awards is being introduced now. All of these jobs were completed by CSDA contractor members and demonstrate the amazing skill and ability they possess,” says CSDA Executive Director Patrick O’Brien.

In addition to all this, CSDA will hold a Board meeting on the morning of Wednesday, January 22 to review its 2013 accomplishments while the association’s Next Generation Committee will host a reception that evening. Both events are open to anyone who wishes to attend and learn more about the association or network with future industry leaders.
