OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP) is the most prestigious safety and health recognition program in the U.S. Approval into VPP is OSHA’s official recognition of employers and employees who have achieved exemplary occupational safety and health.
Many employers have asked for a program for organizations that are interested in VPP but need some help in meeting VPP requirements. OSHA established the OSHA Challenge Program to satisfy this need. OSHA recognizes that many employers are at different stages in the process of implementing successful safety and health management systems. OSHA Challenge allows businesses and other organizations to implement safety and health management systems at their own pace and received recognition from OSHA for their accomplishments.
One of our goals through the Alliance Program, of which CSDA is a partner, is to promote OSHA’s cooperative programs and encourage Program participants and their members and worksites to get involved in them. To that end, click to read an article that summarizes the OSHA Challenge Program.
